IMB Partners Wins Utilities Deal of the Year Award at the 22nd Annual M&A Advisor Awards
November 16, 2023 — IMB Partners (“IMB”) is excited to announce that the firm has been named the winner of the 2023 Utilities Deal of the Year Award by The M&A Advisor at the 22nd Annual M&A Advisor Awards. Winners were named at the sold-out 2023 Future of Dealmaking Summit, which took place on November 16, 2023 at The New York Athletic Club in Manhattan.
IMB was nominated for its successful exit of LaFata Contract Services, LLC (“LCS”) in 2022. During that partnership, IMB helped LCS grow revenue 168.5%, more than triple its EBITDA, and greatly expand and diversify the employee base. The partnership, which spanned about 4.5 years, resulted in a 27x return to investors.
“The award recipients represent the best in the mergers and acquisitions industry this past year and earned these honors by standing out in a group of extremely impressive finalists,” said Roger Aguinaldo, Founder and CEO of The M&A Advisor.
“Winning the Utilities Deal of the Year award is an achievement to be proud of,” said IMB Founder and CEO, Tarrus Richardson. “The M&A Advisor Awards present staunch competition, and we were up against some of the leading firms in the middle market. The fact that we were able to take home the gold is a testament not only to our firm’s investment thesis, but also to the dedication we show to each of our partner companies.”
Upon IMB’s exit in August 2022, LCS merged with Anser Advisory creating a national energy and utility services powerhouse. Other firms involved in the deal included Anser Advisory’s investment partner at the time, Sterling Investment Partners, and D.A. Davidson, who advised the transaction.
