Kelvin Pennington

Mr. Pennington joined IMB in 2010 as a senior advisor and investor and joined full-time as a Managing Director in 2020. He is currently a Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for the firm. Kelvin has over 35 years of experience in private equity and leveraged buyouts and has invested over $500 million in over 20 platform investments and add-on acquisitions.
Prior to IMB, Kelvin was the Founder and Managing Principal of Pennington Partners & Co. (“PPC”) since 1990. PPC and its affiliate partnerships provided private equity investment management and financial consulting services to lower middle market sized companies. From 1982 to 1990, Mr. Pennington worked for Prudential Capital Corporation in various capacities, including Vice President of Corporate Finance responsible for originating and managing investments in middle market leveraged buyouts.
Mr. Pennington received a BS in Industrial Management from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
